Bandwidth is a scarce and valuable commodity in the deployed battlespace, which due to current routing limitations is often used inefficiently, resulting in sub-optimal application performance and increased cost. Increasing demand for new services such as Full Motion Video (FMV), Biometrics and ISTAR will amplify these issues in the near future.

ITSUS is using several proven technologies from Service Providers and enhancing them to deliver military grade funtionality within the deployed battlespace.  The result is more effective use of network capacity, enhanced tactical advantage, improved incident response and significantly reduced operating cost.

ITSUS initially received £50,000 from the Centre for Defence Enterprise to fund equipment, enable formal testing and provide reports on the benefits of the innovation. A second phase of work has received £104,000 funding to look at ways to add network automation, scaling and intelligent routing. 

Since its formation in 2008, ITSUS has continued to double in size, capacity and turnover every year and is rapidly gaining recognition as an innovator within the defence and government market. It is currently engaged with several tier 1 defence suppliers in order to identify exploitation opportunities.

The on going support we receive from DSTL allows us to actively engage with key stakeholders to demonstrate the enhanced capabilities that this innovation provides. Since being awarded the first CDE contract our company has taken on 3 new members of staff and are we actively recruiting more to support our growing customer base.”
